How to lube the rollers by yourself?
Before lubricating your garage door rollers, make sure to shut off the power and inspect the door. Clean the tracks thoroughly and check each roller for cracks, misshaping, or wear — if any are damaged, they may need professional replacement.
- Steel rollers: Apply lubricant directly to the ball bearings at the center of each roller. Wipe off excess grease to avoid imbalance.
- Nylon rollers with exposed bearings: Apply lubricant where the shaft meets the roller, and carefully remove any that touches the nylon.
- Sealed nylon rollers: These do not require lubrication.
For best results, use a silicone-based or garage-door-specific lubricant — not WD-40.
